Normative standards are the foundation of assessment!

. . . and our Normative Sample Schools help us maintain up-to-date, representative reference results for all of our assessment instruments. As a result, users have full confidence that their results make sense, since they’re always presented in comparison with expected age-level norms.

We are currently conducting a normative data campaign for Talking Up! (and will soon expand our norm database for My Real Feelings About School). If your school would like to participate, and if your demographics fit our needs, you’ll be able to utilize Talking Up! for all your students and staff without cost! This offer is open to schools in the United States, Canada, Australia/New Zealand, and Great Britain.

Be assured that your students’ and teachers’ identities will remain confidential, and that we follow the strict ethical standards established by the Institute of Educational Sciences. In most cases, we’ll need only the grade level, gender, and age of respondents (and their assessment results, of course), along with the demographics of the school itself.

1. Basic information about your school/district, including name, location, and grades served;
2. Information about the community demographics (ethnic and socio-economic description);
3. Name of contact person (if your school has a website, please provide the complete web address).
